When we were confident that it was properly cured and was dry, we had it planed to ensure it was flat to both the sides. After that then we were ready to sand, which we were aware would be the longest part of the procedure.
We progressed to 120-grit using the sander before finishing the job at 600. The goal was to provide the surface a polished edge so we put on the chamfer bit, and finished routing the corners out.
