Low light indoor plants give everyone with interest an opportunity to nurture a plant because they are low maintenance.  Apart from doing well with little sunlight, they survive with low water intake.

If you are a plant person, this list will help you settle for five plants that will blossom in any part of your house with the least natural light.

Prayer Plant (Maranta leuconeura)

A row of indoor plants in a store.

Prayer plant lights up your space because it has variegated leaves that come in red, yellow, green and purple color. A perfect combination of pop colors!

If you want to experience the beauty of these colors, keep the indoor plants away from direct sunlight. Also, water it consistently and watch the leaves point upwards and join you in prayer at night. That’s why it is called the prayer plant.

Zee Zee (Zamioculcas zamiifolia)

Zee Zee is a beautiful plant with glossy green leaves that do well with occasional watering. Grow it in the areas of your house with little natural light and it will brighten up the room with its fresh green leaves. With such characteristics, you may want to have more than one. The wonderful news is that the plant can give “birth” to a new plant from a single leaflet.

Devil’s Ivy (Pothos Epipremnum)

Just like Zee Zee, the Devil’s Ivy needs minimal attention.  Watering it once in two weeks will suffice. This plant does well under artificial light or minimum sunlight.

Snake Plant (Sansevieria)

Snake plants can survive in rooms without light and can stay up to three weeks without water. This is your ideal plant if you have a tight working schedule but would love a vibrant green plant in your home.
