The bed is one of the most unrated places on earth. Many people do not realize how much time is spent staying in bed. According to research, the average human lives for about 80 years. Of those years, a staggering 26 years are spent sleeping. But it doesn’t end there. The research also shows that people spend an additional seven years turning and tossing, trying to sleep. In total, that’s 33 years spent in bed. That’s almost half a lifetime. The importance of investing in a cozy bed cannot be overemphasized. Here are some ways to make your bed the coziest place on earth.

Quality Mattress & Headboard

Before anything else, invest in a quality mattress and a bed head. These make up the bed itself. Although a good mattress can be expensive, it is a worthy investment considering how much time will be spent using it. A good mattress can last up to 20 years with proper care. If you have kids who use your bed as a trampoline, then you can expect to replace it every 10 years. A bed head adds more value to your time in bed. Of the seven years you will spend trying to sleep, some of those years will be spent sitting up and leaning against the headboard. Not only that, but a bed head also adds style to your bed, creating a unique focal point in the room. You can get custom bed heads online that suit your budget and style. Or you can do it yourself.

Light It Up

Lighting can completely transform the way your bedroom feels. Use floor lamps to illuminate the corners of the room. Use bedside lamps for reading. Bedside lamps are also useful when you feel lazy to get up and turn off the main lights. To add a magical feel to your bed, hang firefly string lights on the headboard or overhead.
