Unique Shrubbery Designs

A flower bed adorns the driveway of a house.

Every once in a while you may find yourself driving up to your house and taking a glance around. After all the hard work you’ve put into making the interior of your house and the outer walls beautiful, you’ve noticed that you neglected the plants and shrubbery that surround it. Or, for those that tend to pay more attention to these things, maybe you are tired of the same, bland squared-off bushes that are scattered throughout your lawn. What can be done about this? Most often this just need a simple fix: finding new shrubbery designs to showcase how wonderful your home looks and feels.

One idea that can create a more appealing shrubbery landscape is through interchanging different shapes and designs. The easiest way to do this is by having long rows of squared-off shrubbery that become circles where they connect with another, or where they end. This can create a fun walkway for guests to walk through. If this isn’t your thing, or you’d prefer something slightly easier, then play with height in your shrubbery designs. By adding varying heights to your shrubbery, guests can have multiple places to gaze at. For the novice, instead of adding circles at connections or where the shrubbery ends, try leaving it taller, but squared-off. this way they enter where it is large, but then walk through an area where it is shorter in order to see around them. For the homeowners that want to test their art and cutting skills, try to think of other shapes when coming up with possible shrubbery designs, such as a pyramid to put in these areas. Dimension is another item to consider. If you are adventurous enough, try to cut designs in the sides of the shrubbery to add depth. This can be fun, and you may even be able to carve out festive designs for holidays. Lastly, try playing around with color or additives like lights. This can bring a home-y or festive feel to your shrubbery and showcase your home’s personality.
